The 2004 Berkshire Red Sox 16-U season was a bit of a roller coaster ride to say the least.
The Sox played .500 baseball through their first 16 games and then went on a torrid run improving their 8-8 record to 21-8 after running off a 16-U team record 13-straight wins.
The Sox advanced to the semi-finals of their first two tournaments and then won the championship of the Pagoda Classic Labor Day Tournament and finished second in both the Fall Classic and the Oktoberfest Invitational.
Inclement weather forced a three week lay-off toward the end of the Sox season and they were never able to overcome the rust as they dropped their final eight games of the season while playing up against 18-U competition.
The Sox did set a 16-U team record for wins with 27, as well as the longest winning streak at 13.
